Summer Missionary Opportunities |
|
We are excited to announce that two people from our own congregation will be following the Lord's call to carry out the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20) this summer. Todd Janes and Katie Schuessler are asking for your prayer and finacial support as they have a unique opportunity to do extended missions trips. Below are the details for each trip:
Todd Janes Cambodia
I am excited to tell you about what has been developing in my life recently. Along with providing daily blessings, God has opened a door by giving me the opportunity to go on a trip through ABWE to Cambodia to help out a full-time missionary named Rob this summer from June 27th - August 5th.
Most of the ministries that I will be involved with along side Rob include much evangelism and discipleship. This includes working with ex-convicts, teaching an evening English class at the local church, and partnering with local Filipino Baptists to teach at a Bible school. Currently my itinerary consists of leaving in late June and returning early August. As you can imagine, it will be a busy time for me as I prepare for this trip and finish up school. I ask that you pray for wisdom for me as I make preparations, and also that the people of Cambodia would open their hearts to message of salvation. If you feel inclined to support me, it would greatly be appreciated as well. To financially support me you may send personal or business checks or money orders directly to ABWE at their address: ABWE Donor Services PO Box 8585 Harrisburg, PA 17105-8585 Please mention my name on the check as well as this account ID number: 0786081 Please also give your contact info (name, address, phone #) so they can send you a receipt. You can also have a receipt emailed to you by making a note of it.
 Katie Schuessler Papua New Guinea
I am planning to go to Papua New Guinea this summer from July 2 – August 9. I will be going with a New Tribes Mission missionary team and I will be given a realistic look at the practical side of missions with a program called NTM/Destination Summit in Interface. The Interface program will help me to gain experience and exposure to Bible translation, culture and language study, mission methods, support work, which includes the entire process of making the Gospel available cross-culturally and church planting. There is so much that I will gain from learning about what God is doing on the mission field. I am praying also that this trip will allow me to see what direction the Lord wants me to go in whether that be a career in missions or not. There is so much to gain from this trip and I am fully trusting in Jesus Christ to provide. The trip costs $5, 295 plus there is the cost of an airplane ticket so please pray that the expenses of the trip will be covered as well as transportation. I would also ask that you please pray for me as I prepare for this trip and that it will be glorifying to God.
If you do feel led to support me financially please make your check payable to New Tribes Mission with a note attached identifying that it is for Katie Schuessler’s NTM/DestinationSUMMIT account or go online to www.ntm.org/give.

What is a Community Group? Groups of 5-10, led by an appointed and prepared Church Member, that meet together regularly to discuss God's Word, our obedience to His Word, His expectations for our life's actions, and the group's commitment to model their faith and proclaim God's saving grace to the local community through service and outreach activities.
Why Community Groups? Supports the Taylor Creek Church mission of making Christ's love known to others, yet fulfills each of the three church mission "legs" by:
- Magnifying Christ through Worship and the Word
- Moving Believers to Maturity and Ministry
- Making Christ's Love known to our Neighbors and all Nations
Features of the Community Groups
- Accountability - group and personal
- Prayer
- Study of God's Word
- Community outreach and service
- Discipleship
- Service to each other
